Custom field in contact form

Hi there.

I'm totally new to whmcs and need some help in order to customize the built-in contact form. Is it possible to add some custom fields? I tried it on my own by including some rows in contact.tpl. After sending these fields weren't shown in notification email...

Can someone give me a hint?
