Email template creation area for Affiliates not listed

Hello,

In my installation, I only have the following in my template type drop down:

General
Product
Domain
Invoice

This is a bit difficult since I want to send affiliate marketing emails to my customers, but cannot since none of the four areas list affiliate tags available to the message.

I tried creating a message in General using Affiliate tags, but was not successful.. Once the email was recieved, nothing was listed where the affiliate tag was located in the email. Just a blank space.

Will this oversight be corrected any time soon?
