Offer Limited Time Free Hosting

I would like to give my clients 3 months of free hosting and then auto charge $X from the 4th month unless cancelled. I see several threads suggesting the use of coupons. Does the invoice auto generate for the 4th month or do I have to go into each account to activate it manually?

This is such a basic feature for hosting yet it seems so complicated to setup in WHMCS. :(
